Why we are here?

question earth  We can probably never really know what is going on in this reality of ours. Though my blogs, books and Facebook group and page (Aspects of Reality) I am trying to share the insights that have come to my attention about the true nature of our reality. I do not have all the answers, but all I am trying to do  is give people the tools, ideas and structure do their own thinking on these matters.  I also learn a lot from reader feedback and comments, which often set me off on a new train of thought or research.(Thank you)

I have come to the end, for now, of my thread about what happens when we die and leave our physical bodies, but I recently came across some wisdom that made me really think. It came down to a simple question that sometimes gets forgotten- why are we born in the first place?  What is the point of this Earthly life?

Well we cannot be really sure until we get to the next level, and understand the real big picture. Some people would say it is a matter of faith, but it comes down to, I believe, seeking experience of all possible variations of life and the subsequent spiritual development. It is a question we do not ask ourselves enough though, as we work our way through this incarnation.

Aspects of reality

Questions that are not asked enough, why are we born in the first place?  What is the point of this Earthly life? If we could properly answer that we would be able to understand the big picture of our reality.

Differing aspects of us

multiple peopleA friend of ours has recently acquired a lovely new partner. He was always very sound and good hearted, but as it has been remarked upon in the wider friendship circle, he seems to have become much nicer open and generally more friendly. Almost a new man. His late wife was a wonderful woman, but X has brought out a softer, nicer side to his personality.

This made me think how many differing aspects that we all have to our personalities. Several different people are probably inside us. The personalities that we develop, in our interactive reality, depend more than we think on who we interact with and our circumstance in life.On which aspects are brought out. Not only that but friends at the opposite end of the spectrum may see almost completely different people.

Anyway, just another example of the absolute fluidity of our reality in practice. We cannot even really be sure of who, as people, we or our friends really are.

What do you think?

Embracing diversity

crystals_healingA friend, Dana, sent me an account of a wonderful experience she had whist mediating. It was so insightful that I am sharing it as my “thought” for this month.

Messages within a Meditation

Having decided, spontaneously, to do some meditation, I was immediately drawn to use my Opalite sphere.  This was a gift to me from My Reiki Master, who taught me my Reiki III and Teacher level.  She is an amazing teacher and I owe her much, why I was drawn with strong conviction to seek out this stone I have no idea.

For those who know my home, they will confirm that in my conservatory I have bowls and dishes, plates and all sorts of interesting containers, filled with a variety of crystals, yes I collect them, more for pleasure than work, though sometimes I am drawn to use them in healing, for myself and others.

I can’t remember where every specific crystals sits, though I do tend to arrange them in colours – ie; soft pinks, lilacs, blue will be placed together, whilst stronger colours of orange, red, brown nestle together, etc.   I found the small Opalite, which is the size of a small marble, glowing in a huge crystal bowl, bequeathed to me by my Polish family, and amongst an array of stunning stones of natural quartz crystal through to a palm stone of Lepidolite.  The finding of the Opalite was exciting, for as I searched, I saw each crystal through new eyes, they never cease to amaze me in their natural beauty each one individual and unique, even if it is from the same family.

I started my meditation and sat quietly watching my breath – it was then it came to me, each crystal is stunning and different, showing varying qualities and that is how we are, people that is.  It would be narrow minded to always surround ourselves by the same kind of person, each one of us has something unique to offer.  Like crystals we have our less attractive parts but mostly we are beautiful.  When mined, the crystal in its raw state can sometimes be dull and a little shabby but once it is cleaned and in some cases tumbled and polished it becomes an item of undeniable beauty.  There are tiny crystal beads and huge crystal Geodes, fascinating colours and tiny shapes within the main structure.  Crevices and veins of minerals are visible in some and others are smooth and opaque.

If we share our lives with a variety of people and look, really look with detachment, let go of our judgement and pre-conceived ideas, we will see the imperfections, the scars, the misshapen limbs, discolouration of age, perhaps the weariness of life – but also we will see the shining light of a baby, which reminds us of how we started this life.  We will sense the sadness, the dis-comfort and dis-ease, but seeing each person through new eyes, we will also see the perfection of creation, the luminescence of the Soul.  We can reach beyond the hardened shell to see the tiny veins of hope, crevices of faith and most of all we can touch on the softest centre of love.

Like the crystal we come in different sizes, shapes and colours and we resonate on different levels.  Some are intellectual, some are academic whilst others are more artistic or more active but fundamentally, we all have characteristics that are similar and most of all, we all want to be accepted and loved at some level.

Next time we look around a room of people let us not dismiss those that appear not to be ‘our type’ those who appear misshapen or crooked, let us instead, try to see through the veneer and find the luminescent essence within, to reach out to everyone, as we are all one and inter- connected, when we reject others, we reject ourselves at a Soul level.

As I finished the meditation, which incidentally only lasted a few minutes I felt I had stepped through a door, perhaps I had made a quantum leap of understanding humanity from a more spiritual place, who knows!  What I do know is that I felt compelled to share this experience.  Thank you for reading this and letting me reach out to you.

Incidentally, after the meditation I ‘Googled’ Opalite to find out the properties of the stone and to find out why I was drawn to use it for this meditation, this is a small part of the stone’s discription.

Opalite: The ‘Stone of Eternity’ brings forth the understanding of the true-self, the true spirit, to free the spirit. The knowing that one can soar higher than expected, can reach unimaginable goals and join as one with the ultimate all, the whole of who we are and why we are.

“One must dream in order to grow, one must have thought in order to reach”

Different perceptions or different realities?

Dreams are created one choice at a time

Reality is  created one choice at a a time

As ever, the true nature of our reality is something that is a constant fascination to me. I am always on the look out for clues or insights. For instance, the other day I started to watch an American TV programme that was a story shown from the two main characters points of view. Key scenes were remembered differently by the protagonists. This got me thinking on a deep level about the individual nature of reality. The point is, is it generated differently or just perceived differently? Or probably both. It is very hard to tell.

Whilst on a day to day basis we can ask, how often to we misunderstand people or even fall out with them because we have perceived key scenes in our own lives differently? From a reality point of view the question is even more profound. I often feel that we are in some sort of gigantic interactive video game. Are we playing exactly the same game? Or do we just think we are and reality is in fact very individual?  We will only know the answers when we really understand the big picture of our existence. What do you think

Knowing when to let go.

Part of our reality is our experience of living on our Earth. We are here to live different lives and experience different scenarios within these lives. We often make contracts with people before incarnation and agree to play a teaching part in each others lives. These may be short or long or just fleeting. Sometimes we just need to make new contacts. New souls that may help each others journey in past and future lives. Sometimes to allow these people in we have to let others go. We are, as humans limited in our time and capacities. So , it is relevant both to life style and soul development. If you have come across the post in my lifestyle mode, re read with your soul hat on!

Flexible thinking

question marksIn this ever expanding subject of the nature of reality, that I am always writing and commenting on, nothing seems to stand still. New knowledge, insights and understandings are coming to my attention the whole time.

Often I start a thread, and have in my head a plan, and then a particularly insightful comment by a reader sets in train a whole new perspective. My plan gets side lined as I follow the trail as far as I can. I love this as I am a knowledge seeker as well as a knowledge sharer.  The danger is always in the closed minds in our society! manifestation thread  is in a completely different format to which I had planned (thanks DR).

Whilst I was writing this, though, it struck me that what is true for my writing and blogging is also true for “real” life. Sticking rigidly to a plan whilst ignoring clues from the universe, friends and your own gut instincts is often a recipe for disaster or disappointment. Our whole interactive co-operative system for living gives us access to a wider wisdom than people often realize, always using caution of course.

Flexibility rather than dogma is the key to blogging, and life itself!

Dionysian thought

question marks Dionysian thought concerns  knowledge, concepts and instincts we are aware of but do not have the language to explain. As ever some interesting comments and arguments via Facebook. A new Facebook friend of mine William had an interesting slant on this, which I have reproduced, with his consent, below.

“Humans have been around some 300,000 years or so as Homo sapiens, but civilization as far as we can tell has only been around since the end of the last ice age some 11,000 years ago.
This gives us 289,000 years (lets round it down to a quarter million) where we weren’t dealing with engineering, architecture, literature, chemistry, electronics, etc. etc. ad infinitum.
During this period we weren’t much different from our ancestors before that time relying on intuition and instinct in all things.
I suspect we got quite good at it, but between emails, schedules, passwords, freeways and so on we’ve lost touch with it.
So we have these educated brains we’ve been using for less than 4 percent of our existence as a species directing us frequently at odds with our intuition and instincts that have guided us for 96 percent of our existence as a species.
This 96 percentile is powerful beyond measure, it quietly sits there being ignored yet calling into existence much of our misery to balance the forces we’re ignoring.
Is it any wonder we’re plagued by war, drug addiction, alcoholism, partisan chasms based on race, politics, sexual preferences, and cultural stigmas?
We are all spiritually aware if we admit or know it or not.
Drug abusers find drug abusers in a crowd.
Victims almost call their abusers to them.
Under the tyrant of unwise knowledge and ego we are each our own worst enemy.
“Know Yourself” at the temple of Delphi was a call for people to discover themselves and their intuition and instincts and as great as the need was then the need is that much greater again now.”

Aspects of reality

WE are much more aware and multi layered than we remember on a day to day basis.

The crafting wisdom

Someone was advertising a crafting session in their home in one of the Facebook groups that I belong to. This led to a discussion about the fact that to create new beautiful things you often have to destroy the old stuff and re-use the raw materials.  I thought this was a wonderful allegory for life. How often do we have all the basic good raw materials, but create a life that is not quite how we want it? Sometimes we live with all our old stuff  ( emotional, spiritual and material) not seeing that, with thought and skill, it could all be crafted into a better product. The trouble is that it needs courage and imagination to see that sometimes we need to disassemble and destroy in order to rebuild.

So, look to your lives, see how you could re craft with all your raw materials to create a life, or product, that you really want.If we all did that the world would be a happier place.

The reality of our personal new year

It so happens that my birthday is on 31st of December.19** so every January 1st I know that I am a year older. This makes, for me, New Year’s resolutions even more potent and important.

This year I realized two things,

Firstly, rather than make detailed lists, especially those involving giving up chocolate, it would be better just to resolve to be the best person I can be in all areas of my life. This would be both easier and more difficult, hard to measure, but would be a year long effort, not just for January!!!!!

Secondly, I wondered what the reality implications were for this? This may seem a strange question, but I spend my time looking and writing about many facets of out reality ( as per my book- Aspects of Reality-a user’s guide to the universe). How can the knowledge and insights I have gained translate into something mundane as Earthly New Year’s resolution?

There were several things I thought of;

  • I have come to think of life in this reality as being almost some sort of interactive video game. Everything we do, even small things, affects all around us. Lets make it a co-opertive game rather than a competitive one, as far as possible. If we all work, even in small ways to improve the game it will be a win win situation.

  • I found reality to be more uncertain and more individual than most people realise. If you look at the quantum level, every possibility, every variation is there simultaneously. We just seemingly choose, or manifest, which we are conscious in and are aware of. Lets manifest positivity and good choices this year. For the greater good as well if possible.

  • Astrologically it its to be a bit of a roller coaster year. A year of changes on all levels. All important changes usually involve challenges. We do not always want them, even if it means that they are better for us long term. If plans for us and the planet are really written in the heavens then they will happen, whether we want them or not. Let us just resolve to face all challenges with good grace and a positive attitude. In any changing situation there are winners and losers, lets just hope, and work for, any changes being for the greater good.

The power of love

Recently I posted a story about how the power of love seemingly brought a baby back from the dead. This week I will finish my love cycle with a story ab0ut a baby born sick and possibly brain damaged, who was revived by a mass effort of love and healing.

My dear friend F emailed me with very sad news about her new baby grand daughter. Unexpectedly there had been problems with the birth and the baby was born brain damaged and needing help with her vital functions. The poor young parents were told that there was “nothing there” and that they would have to make hard decisions (IE turn off life support).

F knew that there was something there, despite what the doctors had to say. She described how she had seen that the child was trying to focus on its mum. She put out a request to all her healing friends to send distance healing and love. That very day, it was as if someone had thrown a switch. She felt this enormous wave of healing and the baby suddenly improved dramatically. It went from death’s door to being well enough to go home. Brain dead was now reclassified to brain bruised. She has problems, but not insurmountable ones long term.

Love is then proven to be  a  powerful force that, if focused, can achieve miracles. Is it just part of being human, a gift from a creator, or part of the divine itself? I am more and more inclined to think that it is the latter.

Life would anyway be very difficult without it.
