Why do we need to know?

As regular readers may know, I have always been fascinated with the true nature of our reality. It is a topic I have discussed in my books, ( Aspects of reality and Super clues to reality) and in my talks and social media posts over the last few years. People may ask why the true nature of our reality matters. We are here living our lives and there is nothing we can do about it. Why is it important?

Science tells us that we are at base nothing more than energy beings living in an energy matrix. Spirituality tells us that what makes us us is our consciousness/soul  which inhabits and drives the seemingly physical body, and enables us to live our physical lives. Who made us and why we are here is of course another matter!!

I have begun to think of our reality, on one level, as no more than an interactive video game. In a world were fear seems to have taken over, it is important to step out of the game others seem to be directing. It is important to remember who and what we really are.

As Venerable Thubuten Lhundrup  in his book Practical meditation says “..our lack of awareness of the true nature of reality causes the cycle of suffering..”

He goes on to say “This ignorance combined with a false sense of “self” causes us to carry out actions that due to the laws of Karma, result in further suffering or unhappiness.”

So, remember who you are as a multilayered great soul and being. Rise above, if you are able to, the sadness and anger and understand what is happening now is part of a big picture that we cannot fully understand. Just one of many lives we will live. It may have been an accident, but it is more likely to be a game played by those who do not have our interests at heart, who have their own agenda. It may, of course, be the soul of mother Earth trying to rebalance the planet, let’s hope it is the latter.

Anyway, just remember that we are interconnected beings and our only hope of winning this game is to unite with love and positivity. We are beings more powerful than we realise, living in an infinite continuum of which this is just a small part. Remember the big picture and let us drive back project fear. Let’s make it our game again!

Subjective reality

It is beginning to be understood  that our reality is not only not we think it is, but it is also multilayered. Lately I identified three of these layers ( and there may be more). That was ultimate, objective and subjective reality. Track back to see the whole story.

Subjective reality is probably the most interesting.

Firstly, it is subjective because what we see varies from person to person. We see what our eyes and sense organs tell us is there. All incoming data from these sense organs is compiled by our brain. Our brain interprets these according to what it already knows about the world. We see generally what we expect to see .It may not be exactly what the person standing next to us sees. Not to mention that our eyes can only see the wavelengths of light that they are set up to see. It is worth mentioning that we do not see up to  95% of what is there in our reality because our equipment is limited!

Some people do see more of it than others because of the natural variation of the range of their sense organs.

Secondly, There is also another scientific, quantum mechanical reason why our reality is more subjective than we think . I will look at that next time.

Who and what are we actually?

What and who are we actually?

We think we know who and what we are. When we look about us, at our fellow humans and the world and universe around us, we see seemingly solid entities, rocks, seas and stones stars and planets. Reality, we think, looks substantial and fixed. This is actually an illusion. (more…)

How did You Know?

Thought for the day 2

How did you know?

As per my glitter ball analogy of yesterday, I have another question to ask. The reflections, aspects or clues, whatever you like to call them, that reflect back into our reality, what were they for you? What did you see or understand which led you to realise that the physical reality in which we live I not, and cannot be the whole story?

For me it was a gradual realisation through childhood and adult hood. Although to be honest, even from a small child things did not feel right to me. I could see glitches and anomalies, enough to make me question things anyway. This triggered a life long fascination about how our reality actually works.

  • My first husband and I understood that we had met before in a previous incarnation. That was before such things were generally discussed or known about.
  • My mother could accurately see the future..did this mean that the future had already happened? It scared her.
  • The past life memories that began to bleed through that actually explained irrational fears that I held in this life.
  • The” boo” straight into my ear one night when no one was there.
  • The dark shape that wandered across my sitting room floor then disappeared. I may have thought that I was imagining it, but I saw a shocked expression on my companions face as he had seen it too.
  • The orbs that we saw and heard in a haunted hotel in Wales.
  • The time slip that occurred when driving along a country road late at night. A segment of a  radio programme repeated itself completely.

These are just a few examples, I am sure you have more…please share if you feel able.

Thought for the day

I was asked to do a thought for the day sequence for a Facebook group ( Nothing fancy spiritual) and I thought I would share it here as it gets to the heart of what I am trying to achieve with my web blog.

Thought for the day,

In all my research for my books on the nature of reality, I started with two burning questions. Who are we, and what are we really doing here? Simple questions but actually almost unanswerable. (more…)

Is our reality part of a gigantic universal code?

There is a  theory that the universe is nothing more than a vast integrated mathematical construct. There are, as ever, many variations on this topic.  But generally the theory holds that nothing is random in the universe. It can be perceived as nothing more than a gigantic interlocking mathematical model. All of creation, and our Earth in particular, are governed by mathematical rules. This can be referred to as the code. (more…)

Third Aspect of Reality- Why life?

The old eternal question is, who really are we and how did we get here?

Science states that we are just products of random evolutionary forces. It cannot yet explain why life exists, and how it first came into being and even where the energy of the big bang, which is supposed to have triggered creation, came from.  New life is something that science has failed to create. Why did a mix of chemicals become thinking, breathing life? Our consciousness tells us we are alive. There is no evolutionary need for the level on consciousness that we have. Concepts like karma and good and evil also hint at a more complex a bigger picture.
